Late 19th to early 20th century oak chair (roughly 1890–1915), likely American or English, in a Gothic / Jacobean Revival style. The back panel shows classic Gothic tracery carving with quatrefoil and scroll motifs, which were very popular in church furniture and “olden world” revival pieces around the turn of the century.
The wood looks like quarter-sawn oak, a durable and desirable material of that era, and the chair appears sturdy with honest age and a warm patina. It was probably part of a larger dining or hall set originally, though single survivors like this are common.
